Q. What is Pickleball?

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It is played on a badminton-sized court with a lowered net, using a paddle and a plastic ball with holes, similar to a whiffle ball. 

Pickleball is known for its friendly and inclusive nature, making it popular among players of all ages and skill levels. It is easy to learn but can be challenging to master, requiring a combination of strategy, skill, and agility.

Q. Where can I play pickleball indoors?

There are various leagues and clubs offering pickleball in the Burlington and surrounding area. The Burlington Pickleball Association offers seasonal leagues, drop ins and special events to its members.

Q. Where can I play pickleball outdoors?

The City of Burlington continues to expand outdoor pickleball courts available to its residents. Below is a list of outdoor Pickleball court locations open Spring to Fall:

Q. What is your membership refund policy?

Please note that Burlington Pickleball Association, Pickleball Ontario, and Pickleball Canada membership fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. 

Q. What is your league play refund policy?

Refund Eligibility:
Refunds will be issued only under the following circumstances:
A league is cancelled in its entirety before the first game or event.
A player is unable to participate due to injury or for reasons beyond their control (e.g., relocation, unexpected personal circumstances) with the approval of the Board of Directors.

Refund Process:
Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to president@burlingtonpickleball.ca.
Refunds will be processed within 10 days of receiving the request.

Refund Amounts:
Refunds will be prorated based on the number of games or events remaining in the season at the time of the request.
Processing fees for any payments made through Pickleball Canada are non refundable.
Refunds done by e-transfer are subject to an administrative fee of $2.

Policy Updates:
The Burlington Pickleball Association reserves the right to update or modify this refund policy at any time. Any changes will be communicated to all registered participants. By registering for any of our pickleball leagues, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by this refund policy.


Q. What is your association's code of conduct?

The Burlington Pickleball Association is committed to providing an environment that reflects the association’s core values of respect, fairness, integrity, honesty, and safety: Please take the time to review our association's full Code of Conduct.

Q. Why do some sessions not play every week?

Any date that has "no session" means that there will be no play that day. Normally, this is because of a holiday or the gym is unavailable. 

Q. Are they opportunities to sub for other players?

If you are a current BPA member in good standing, you are welcome to sub for other players during any session. Please be friendly, polite, and considerate of others and follow the guidelines outlined below:

We kindly ask that you limit subbing to once per week to allow others the opportunity to participate.

*Please note you cannot sell your sessions as a package through the sub app. If you are unable to finish a league, contact us so we can look into a refund and offer the spot to someone who is on our waitlist.
